When we began developing this heel, I wanted it to live somewhere between a tribute and a love letter. A tribute to a designer whose work shaped how I think about cinema, character, and confidence — and a love letter to the era of film that taught a generation how to dress.

A Collaboration With Marilyn Vance
If you do not know Marilyn Vance by name, you certainly know her work. She is one of the most celebrated costume designers in Hollywood history, with a filmography that helped define a generation. I will only mention one of her films — Pretty Woman — but if you look her up, you will see hit after hit. It is unbelievable.
Working with her, and with her daughter, under Designing Hollywood has been a genuine honor. They are both such wonderful souls. The collaboration gave us the chance to take an inspiration that runs through her work — that cinematic 1980s sensibility — and translate it into a single, refined silhouette.
This is the era that influenced this style. It was based on that moment in Hollywood, and I did it in what I think is the most tasteful way I could recreate something from the 1980s.
The 1980s, Distilled
I do not love everything from the 1980s. I have never been crazy about the shoulder pads or the boxy Hugo Boss suits of that era. That is not my taste. But there is always room for everything in this world. My job, as a designer, is to narrow it down. To find the one detail that captures a feeling and to nail it.
That is what this heel does. It carries the confidence and the cinema of the era without any of the noise. It is a quiet tribute to a moment in film, refined down to its essence.
A heel that belongs in an editorial. A heel that belongs in your closet.
